The Matia is a special blend of all the best grenache barrels from the vintage. The flavor profile will vary from vintage to vintage, but the vines off the estate usually lean towards a red fruit forward palate. We age in just enough new oak to bolster up the flavors without overpowering the fruit.

91 Points: All Grenache from estate fruit in the Santa Ynez Valley, the 2022 Cuvée Matia Santa displays a medium ruby hue and offers savory strawberries, dried flowers, and subtle spice in a very pretty, clean, and pure style. Medium-bodied, it has a supple, polished mouthfeel with some savory underlying tannins and moderate concentration yet terrific balance. Aged for 18 months in 95% neutral oak barrels and 5% new French oak barrels, this has rock solid, classic Grenache character. Drink 2025-2032. - Jeb Dunnuck
92 Points: This is a very light Grenache, yet the joy is in appreciating its subtleties. Aromas of pomegranate and crushed stone lead from the nose into a palate that pairs watermelon rind and sharp citrus flavors with a firm grip. — Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast
